Can Can’s big Top Rock Shop

Local charity CAN (Compass Advocacy Network) are hosting a fabulous entertainment evening at the Riverside theatre on Wednesday 17th August.

The evening entitled Big Top Rock Shop will feature a number of local artists with learning disabilities including the recently formed rock bands from BCRC rock school including Causeway Giants, The Causeway Krew and Point of View.

These groups have been formed following tuition from Ossia school of music in Belfast and all of the bands feature local talent from the Causeway area.

The evening will kick off with a circus troupe performance by the CAN circus troupe and will feature stilt walkers, jugglers, diabolos and poi artists. All of the artists have trained with the Streetwise Circus school in Belfast and are really looking forward to presenting their new skills to the public.

Also performing on the night will be the CAN drumming circle who will showcase their samba drumming. The group have received tuition from local instructor Ian ‘Bud’ Mc Donald and have worked very hard in preparation for the event. The group are looking forward to bringing a little bit of brazil to the north coast of Ireland.

There will also be individual performances from local singers/performers and the finale will be a collaboration of all the performers bringing the event to a rousing close.

This is an excellent opportunity to come along and support local people with learning disabilities as they display a wealth of talent and enthusiasm. The evening promises to be a fun night out, showcasing the talent which exists in our area. Tickets are only £5 and are available from the Riverside Theatre, Coleraine Box Office or CAN.
