Can you give these dogs a home?

SIR - These two dogs are in need of very good homes. They have been at Benvardin for nearly 7 weeks.

"Sandy" is a 7 year old golden Labrador. Sandy came into us last summer from his owner who had too many animals and was finding it hard to cope with them. Unfortunately, Sandy had a eye problem which was not attended to properly and whenever we took him to the vet, he could do nothing but removed it, which one of our volunteers collected the money for his operation. So Sandy has just one eye!

We did rehome him shortly after the operation and he was out of our kennels for 5 months, but his new owners' moved to England and couldn't take him with them, so Sandy has been back with us for 7 weeks now.

He is fully vaccinated, neutered and house trained. Very friendly and very good with children, it's just his age I think that is putting people off. Which is just a shame as he is a very good dog with lots of love to give.

"Sasha" 3 year old Rottweiler. Sasha as I have called her, was rescued from the puppy farm raid which was done back in February. She is fully vaccinated and will be speyed before leaving our kennels. She is a very friendly dog and again house trained. She would need a home with a big garden as she is a big dog. Homechecks are essential for this breed of dog and we will not be homing her where a family have young children under 6 years of age. All round she is a fantastic dog and if possible we are looking for someone who is familiar with the breed.

If you would like more information or can help rehome these two dogs please call the Shelter Benvardin Kennels (07979 534023)

Thanks Louise Neill form Benvardin.
