Cancer Focus launches manifesto
Local cancer charity, Cancer Focus, launched its '˜manifesto' at an event held last week.
Speaking at the ceremony, which took place at Stormont, Sinn Féin MLA Oliver McMullan welcomed calls by the charity for a fresh vision for combatting cancer.
He said: “With cancer waiting times worsening and the number of cases of cancer projected to rise considerably between now and 2035, it is time we had a fresh vision for combatting cancer.
“What we need is an over-arching all-Ireland strategy to fight cancer and deliver the best possible service for those in need.”
