Cancer Research Committee 'thanks'

Over 900 was raised at the event - which marked its tenth year - in the Presbyterian Church Hall.

Betty Wilkinson from the branch said members wished to thank all those who donated food items for the day, volunteers and those members of the public who came along.

Betty also paid tribute to the camaraderie at the event between all those in attendance.

"It was a great day," she said.

"There was a steady stream of visitors to the event.

"All the food was donated which meant every penny raised goes directly to Cancer Research.

"We are very grateful to everyone for their support."

To date the event has raised over 10,000 since its inception a decade ago.
