Cannabis factory - man arrested

A member of the public stumbled across a '˜cannabis factory' in a shed outside Ballymena.

A 47 year old man has been arrested following the discovery in the Frosses Road area on the evening of Thursday 28 January.

Just before 11.30pm, a member of the public reported finding the cannabis factory in a shed.

Police attended and over 100 plants were seized.

Detective Sergeant Kelly Gallagher said: “Just after 10.30am this morning, Friday 29 January, a 47 year old man was arrested on suspicion of cultivating cannabis, possession of a class B controlled drug with intent to supply, being concerned in the supply of class B controlled drug as well as several other motoring offences.

“He currently remains in custody assisting police with their enquiries.”
