Cannabis find charges

A 47-YEAR-OLD man appeared in court last week charged in connection with a major drug raid in Katesbridge earlier this month.

Noel Phillip Morrison, of no fixed abode, faced four charges including possession of a class B drug, namely cannabis, as well as intent to supply and cultivation of the drug.

Police discovered a cannabis factory at a property in the Carnpark Road area on Friday September 10 where around 200,000 worth of the drug was found.

Having appeared before Newry Magistrate’s Court on September 15, Morrison was remanded in custody to appear via video link at Newry Court on October 13.

Morrison’s arrest follows that of Lisburn man Gary Armstrong, who has also been remanded in custody and will appear again via video link at Newry on October 6.
