Cannabis plants worth £18,000discovered at Glenavy property

Police from D District Crime Team have recovered suspected cannabis plants with an estimated value of £18,000 in Glenavy following a planned search of a property in the Glen River Park on Friday, March 14.

The plants were removed from the property and police say that enquiries are still ongoing and are keen to speak to anyone who can help them with their enquiries.

Officers would ask anyone with any information about the supply or use of illegal drugs in the area to contact the Crime Team in Dunmurry on 0845 600 8000.

Seven years ago, a cannabis factory was discovered at a house in Glenavy.

Police seized suspected cannabis plants with an approximate cultivated value of £70,000.

In a planned operation officers discovered cultivation equipment with an estimated value of £5,000.
