Cantabile in big charity push

Cantabile choir recently handed over three cheques to charitable causes raised during a series of special events.

An evening was held in choir director Kerrie Patterson’s house entitled ‘Girls Night In for Cancer’, during which £340 was raised for Cancer Research.

Cantabile’s annual June concert which was held in St Paul’s Chapel raised £464.11. This money was donated to The Fertility Clinic at Craigavon Hospital.

A presentation of £700 was also made to the Cardiac Ward 1 North at Craigavon Area Hospital.

The choir thanked their audiences for their support and generosity and gave special praise to Jo-Ann Smyth of Evolution Graphic Design for posters, Tony McMullan for printing and Adrian McConaghy and his staff at the Ashburn for the use of rehearsal space.

Cantabile rehearse every Wednesday night in the Ashburn Hotel - 7pm to 8.15pm for males and 8.15pm to 9.30pm for females.

The choir currently have space for new members and although there is no age limit the youngest they’ll accept is 13.
