The centre offers a range of personalised services to alleviate the stress of debt for individuals and families, and the launch will feature a talk by debt coach Ian Hanna, as well as the testimony of a CAP service user who has become debt-free.

Larne Baptist Church is one of the churches involved in supporting the local group.

The church’s Pastor John Gault told The Times: “We live in a very particular time in which there is a great need in society.

“This group will help people who have debt problems.”

Larne centre Manager Wendy Davison previously told The Times that the new centre was helping to address need in the area.

“There was a a big need in Larne and the Carrick centre was only hitting the tip of the iceberg.,” she said.

“Now that Larne has a centre people here are no longer deprived of the service.

“We distribute vouchers for the Trussell Trust food bank at the Methodist Church and have been talking to other organisations such as the Salvation Army, Simon Community, GPs, health visitors and Sure Start and we can refer people to the CAB.

CAP offers a free, cross-community service to those in despair over debt, including visiting them in their homes.
