Car bursts into flames in cul-de-sac near Coalisland primary school

A car burst into flames in a cul-de-sac near a primary school in Coalisland in the early hours of this morning.

Fire crew were called from Dungannon to deal with the blaze, which also caused heat damage to a home in Parknascull, Coalisland.

A spokesperson for Northern Ireland Fire & Rescue Service said: “Northern Ireland Fire & Rescue Service (NIFRS) received a call at 2.15am to a report of a car well alight at the Parknascull area of Coalisland this morning (Wednesday 9 March).

“One Fire Appliance from Dungannon Fire Station was deployed to the scene. Firefighters wearing breathing apparatus and using a hosereel jet dealt with a car well alight in the area. Heat damage was caused to a business premises in the area.

“Northern Ireland Fire & Rescue Service finished at the scene at 2.50am.”

Police have since said the fire is thought to have been caused by a fault in the vehicle.
