Car found burnt out following Moneymore accident

POLICE in Cookstown are investigating a road traffic collision in the High Street area of Moneymore on Tuesday 27 August.

Shortly after 11.30pm it was reported that a red coloured Vauxhall collided with a lorry in the area.

The car did not stop after the collision and made off in the direction of Magherafelt. The car was discovered on fire a short time later on the Moneymore to Magherafelt Road.

Police conducted a search of the area for the occupants of the vehicle without success.

Police would appeal to anyone who witnessed the incident or anyone with any information to contact them at Cookstown Police Station on 0845 600 8000. Alternatively information may be passed on anonymously via the Crimestoppers number 0800 555 111.
