Car goes on fire near Moneymore

Fire fighters from Cookstown rushed to the scene of a car fire in the Moneymore area at around 12.30pm today [Tuesday].

One fire crew dealt with the blaze in less than 30 mins, the cause of which was thought to be accidental.

A spokesperson for Northern Ireland Fire & Rescue Service told the Mail: “Northern Ireland Fire & Rescue Service (NIFRS) received a call at 12:28pm to a report of a car on fire at the Maghadone Road, Moneymore area on Cookstown this afternoon (Tuesday 12th May).

“One Fire Appliance from Cookstown Fire Station was deployed to the scene,” they added.

“The incident finished at 12:56pm and early indications would suggest the fire started accidentally.”
