Car seized for insurance offence

The forfeiture of a car which was being driven without insurance was ordered last Wednesday at Craigavon Magistrates Court.

Steven McSloy (31), Milltown, Portadown, was fined £200 and banned for six months for not having insurance on June 17 this year.

For not having a driving licence he was fined £75.

The court heard that police were behind a car on the Northway and followed it into the car park at the Ominplex in Highfield.

McSloy was unable to produce any documentation and the car was seized.

Imposing the fines and ban District Judge, Mrs Bernie Kelly, also ordered the forfeiture of the car.

The defendant did not appear in court.
