Car set alight in village at weekend

A car was set alight in the centre of Donaghcloney at the weekend.

Police in Craigavon are appealing for information after a report of arson at Baird Avenue in the early hours of morning Monday morning.

At around 2am, it was reported that a green Volkswagen Passat car was set alight in the area. The car was extensively damaged and enquiries are continuing.

Meanwhile firefighters were called to Waringstown to deal with an arson incident at a derelict shed just off the main street - with residents told to close doors and windows following the discovery of asbestos.

The incident was reported shortly after midnight on Thursday.

Two appliances from Lurgan and Banbridge dealt with the call.
