Carbon Monoxide Alarm warning

A WARNING has been issued over potentially unsafe carbon monoxide alarms believed to be still in wide circulation throughout Limavady.

The Environmental Health Department at Limavady Borough Council have been contacted by Sensor Safe Ltd concerning a potential safety issue with their SF80190 Carbon Monoxide Alarm.

A spokesperson for Limavady Borough Council said: “Test results have confirmed that these alarms may not detect levels of carbon monoxide and as a result have been taken off sale. All existing stock has been quarantined while recalling those already sold. These alarms have been supplied throughout Northern Ireland.

There remains a large number of these monitors unaccounted for throughout northern ireland, please ensure if you are in possession of the above carbon monoxide alarms to stop using them and return it to your supplier immediately. The company apologises for any inconvenience caused.
