Careers advice comes to Ballymoney Jobs Fair

Twenty-five companies with over 180 vacancies have so far confirmed their attendance on the day. The vacancies include both full and part-time opportunities, and permanent and seasonal jobs.

The job fair, organised by the Department for Employment and Learning (DEL) is taking place between 10am and 4pm and will offer jobseekers the chance to discuss various job opportunities with leading companies including the Lynas Foodservice, Debenhams and Lynas Foodservice, along with Wright Group Ltd who will be recruiting 60 apprentices for their 2016 intake. A wide range of vacancies will be available as well as advice and guidance on a range of training and re-skilling opportunities.

Speaking ahead of the event, Employment and Learning Minister Dr Stephen Farry said: “This event brings employers, support organisations and jobseekers together under one roof. The Job Fair has something for everyone and I would encourage anyone, whether in work, unemployed or simply considering their education and training options, to explore the services which will be available on the day.

“A range of support organisations, including my Department’s Careers Service and Employment Service, will also be present to provide information, advice and guidance on a range of training and employment schemes that can assist individuals progress towards work and equip them with the skills to compete in the labour market.”

Yvonne Leslie from DEL’s Careers Service, said: “Careers Advisers will be on hand to offer careers information, advice and guidance to anyone thinking about changing jobs or career direction, looking for Education/Training/Employment opportunities, or looking for information on a particular career. You will also be able to get assistance and advice on writing a CV, filling in application forms, interviews techniques and much more.
