More and more university courses involve interviews, obviously highlighting the need for good
communication skills.

Recently, the Year 14 students (Upper Sixth) were able to benefit from the professional expertise of people in the local community who conducted mock interviews with them.

The interview sessions took place over two nights and no doubt proved to be invaluable for the enterprising sixth formers.

Interviewees were placed in different groups with their respective interviewer and pupils were able to enhance their knowledge of a particular career area and develop their oral skills.

St Michael’s Grammar School really values the help which these professionals provide for the students. Many of the adults are past pupils and it is admirable that many former students give their time to facilitate the careers department with mock interviews, work experience and
careers talks.
