Carers’ Forum holds AGM and welcomes guest speaker

Members welcomed Lisburn Councillor Yvonne Craig as guest speaker for the event.

During the evening, Mrs Craig praised the forum for past achievements, among them the Queens Award for Voluntary Service.

The forum has also organised beauty therapy for the learning-disabled on an on-going basis and demand for the service is growing.

Councillor Craig announced that she had started preliminary work and negotiations to obtain funding for health and wellbeing equipment, this so the clients of Lisburn Adults Resource Centre could not only look good through beauty therapy but also feel good from the inside.

“The Carers’ Forum is a truly caring group of people who enjoy every minute with learning-disabled adults who are part of the group, organising events and activities for them and their carers,” said Mrs Craig.

“When you give a little of yourself to others you truly get a lot more back again,.

“That’s what the Carers’ Forum is all about.”
