Carhill PS win '˜Peace and Harmony' prize

Young artists from Carhill Integrated Primary School, Garvagh, proudly collected an award from actor and director Dan Gordon at a celebration afternoon at Hazelwood Integrated College, Newtownabbey, last Thursday.

The Carhill IPS P6 and P7 pupils won a prize in the Integrated Education Fund’s annual Carson Awards Scheme for their drawings on the theme of “Peace and Harmony”.

The Awards, in memory of the beloved Northern Ireland comedian Frank Carson, are supported by Frank’s family to promote and recognise creativity in integrated schools. The scheme is administered by the Integrated Education Fund (IEF).

At the event Frank Carson’s son Tony announced that the IEF would receive a legacy gift of £50,000 from his parents, to help the Fund’s work supporting and growing integrated education in Northern Ireland.
