Carniny housing approved

A plan to create a 43-dwelling housing development on the Carniny Road has been given the go-ahead by a committee of Mid & East Antrim Council.

The revised application submitted by JFM Construction Ltd. comprises nine two-storey detached dwellings, 28 two-storey semi-detached dwellings and six apartments in three blocks of two.

Planners recommended approval, subject to relevant planning conditions, of the development which centres on a site at 107 Carniny Road.

A senior planner told Council’s Planning Committee last Thursday in Ballymena that no objections had been raised over the application by consultees and that no third party representations had been received.

He also told the meeting that the department was satisfied the plan was for “a quality residential development”

The recommendation to approve the application was agreed unanimously by the committee on the proposal of Councillor Beth Adger, seconded by Councillor Audrey Wales.
