Dr Rosaleen Rogers, originally from Templemore, has lived in the Carnmoney area for around 18 months, and wrote the book in tribute to the life of her father-in-law.

Dr Rogers has written several books on a wide range of subjects including Teddy Bears, Margaret Thatcher and the Great Irish Famine.

‘Completing your training at the Curragh before being posted to County Meath

You soldiered on and your personal ambitions were gone

You knew that the enemy you did defeat

Serving your time as a driver during your time in the forces

Was quite a big responsibility

Once again you did your country proud.’

Retailing at 12, Rosaleen's book is available online at Chipmunkapublishing.co.uk.
