Carolyn is crowned 2012Hospitality Student of the Year

LISBURN’S Carolyn Barr was recently named ‘Beauty and Hospitality Student of The Year’ and voted Runner-Up in the overall ‘Outstanding Student of the Year’ category at the prestigious National BTEC Student Awards 2012 which took place at the Royal Horticultural Halls, Westminster.

SERC Beauty Therapy lecturer Eunice Kerr said: “The entire occasion was a most enjoyable event and the beauty therapy team together with everyone at SERC wish Carolyn every success in her future career.”

A part-time student at South Eastern Regional College’s Lisburn Campus, Carolyn has just completed her Higher National Certificate in Beauty Sciences were she has shown the commitment and enthusiasm which have won her the title.

Carolyn was nominated by her lecturer and course co-ordinator Eunice Kerr, who said: ‘We are delighted that Carolyn has won this award, she has shown great dedication to her studies, since she started her Level 2 course in 2008 and has progressed all the way up to HNC level. She is a great role model for other students in the College.’
