Caron Keating Foundation funds physical activity programme in Ballymoney

Following on from the success of the rehabilitative physical activity pilot programme for women recovering from breast cancer, the Northern Trust is pleased to announce that they have received funding from the Caron Keating Foundation to run six new activity programmes per year.

The programme concentrates on aspects of physical activity for women recovering from a breast cancer diagnosis in the Northern Trust area. They will be held in the Joey Dunlop Leisure Centre in Ballymoney and Six Mile Leisure Centre in Ballyclare.

The fitness instructors in each venue will provide instruction on various forms of exercise, including low impact aerobics, yoga, pilates, dance, swimming and gentle gym work. Each session is concluded with informal talks on topics such as lymphoedema, cancer information sources, swimwear and prosthetic advice.
