Event organiser Stacey Chambers said: “On Monday evening, we are hoping to have cars come together at Carrickfergus Castle car park from 8pm to 11pm to raise money for Children’s Hospice.

“Everyone is welcome to join in the various events on the night; we also have raffles and a ‘Blackboard Truck’ to be written on.

“We hope to raise enough money to provide essential respite breaks for life limited children and their families at Horizon House. With an array of stalls, food outlets and fundraising activities there will be something for all car-loving families to enjoy. We really are looking forward to helping a great cause and meeting a lot new people.”

NI Children’s Hospice community fundraiser, Catherine O’Hara added: “On behalf of everyone at Children’s Hospice I would like to sincerely thank Stacey and her colleagues at Carrick Car Cruise for once again putting our charity at the heart of this wonderful annual event and wish them every success.

“We simply could not provide the service we do both at Hospice and in the homes of our life-limited children and young people without the support and generosity of our local community. “£500 will provide a break at the Children’s Hospice for a life limited child and family. £100 pays for one overnight nurse at home. It costs £3 million pounds to maintain our services and with limited Government funding we need to raise £2.5 million every year.

“All donations, large and small are very much appreciated.”
