The marina, which has been awarded the standard for another three years, was also mystery shopped and questionnaires were completed by berth holders.

Welcoming the announcement, the Mayor, Alderman Charlie Johnston, said: “I am delighted that it has been confirmed that Carrickfergus Marina has successfully retained its TYHA Five Gold Anchor status. The scheme operates in a similar fashion to the grading of accommodation.

“This is excellent news and visitors to the marina can be guaranteed an excellent level of service and an enjoyable stay.

I would like to thank all of the staff involved in the facility successfully retaining this accreditation for all of their hard work and to commend them on this fantastic accolade.”
