Carrick tots win praise for astronomical effort

Barnardo’s have thanked under-fives in Carrickfergus for their astronomical efforts during the outer-space themed Big Toddle last year.

The tremendous toddlers from Acorn Nursery and Playgroup, Barnardo’s Horizon Sure Start and Minor Miracles Day Nursery raised over £900 for local Barnardo’s projects - including children with a disability, children overcoming a traumatic experience like losing a parent, or children helping care for their parents.

A spokesperson for the charity said: “Barnardo’s would love to see more local nurseries, parents and child minders registering to take part in the Big Toddle this year when the theme will be swashbuckling pirates!

“Nurseries can host their own pirate-themed Big Toddle with family and friends, any time, any place.”
