Carrickfergus College open night video by pupils

Primary school children had an opportunity to sample secondary-level education during Carrickfergus College's annual open night.

The headmaster’s speech followed a slightly different format this year when principal Hedley Webb took a step back to allow more input from two of the school’s current year 8 pupils, Rebekah Ervine and Kai Farr.

The pupils were contacted in June, while still in their primary seven classes, and asked to prepare a video blog over the summer.

The video, which was shown to a packed assembly hall, highlighted their thoughts about changing schools and allowed them to voice any fears they had.

Meanwhile, parents and prospective pupils were free to have a look around the North Road school and were encouraged to get involved in the activities going on in the departments.
