Carrickfergus title is added to British Newspaper Archive

The British Newspaper Archive has newspapers from across the British Isles including the Larne Times and Weekly Telegraph.

The latest edition to the collection is the Carrickfergus Advertiser newspaper, covering the period 1884 to 1899.

The first edition is from April 1884 and there are over 1,000 copies of the paper currently online,

Meanwhile, the archive will have papers up to 1912 when it is fully archived on the online site.

The site has the facility to search for key words or scan via dates and is used by genealogists, local historians and those with a general interest in history.
