Carson welcomes new stand atShowgrounds

The facilities will provide an extra 2,200 seats, providing an overall seating capacity of 3,900 seats.

Cllr Carson said: “This fantastic facility will be opening in the next few weeks, providing an additional 2,200 seats, with an overall seating capacity of 3,900.

“This will further enhance what is fast becoming Northern Ireland’s premier ground, opening up the opportunity of hosting some major events in sport and recreation.

“The grounds have facilitated the Milk Cup soccer tournament and I had the privilege of speaking to officials of not only premier league teams, like Spurs, Manchester United and Everton, but international teams such as the USA and Israel. They all commended the excellent facilities at the Showground’s,” said Mr Carson.

He added: “As an enthusiastic Ballymena United fan I wish Roy Walker and the entire club every success in the future.

“We not only have a ground to be proud of, but a team also. Well done to all involved”.
