Open to young people aged 11-18 who live in, or are from Ballymena Borough, the award categories include: Leadership, Arts and Culture, Sports, Education, Music, Community and Volunteering, Business and Entrepreneurship (sponsored by Ballymena Business Centre) and a Heart of Gold (young carers) Award. Two additional award categories are the Young Adult Award and the Dedication To Young People Award. The Young Adult Award is for an individual aged 18-25 who is a positive role model for other young people in the community, while the Dedication To Young People Award seeks to recognise an adult who is dedicated to working for and supporting young people in Ballymena.

Not only will this red carpet event recognise the achievements of those young people nominated, there will also be performances showcasing the talents of local young people, guest speakers and a wealth of activities for young people to get involved in on the evening.
