Castlerock Centre celebrates first year

THE Castlerock Information and Visitor Centre recently celebrated its first anniversary.

The centre was officially declared open last June by Coleraine actor, James Nesbitt.

In the past year the new Information Centre has established itself as the hub of village life. It offers seven-day-per-week information and assistance and a wide range of services to local residents and visitors alike.

The latest additions to the Centre’s services include a ‘Pound for a Book’ service aimed at travellers and caravanners and an exclusive range of 30 postcards depicting historic and modern views of Castlerock and the surrounding area.

The Centre has also provided the base and the logistical support for a wide range of events over the last year, including the huge Olympic Torch and Jubilee event last month and the Street Party on a grand scale which attracted 6,000 visitors.

Thoughts are already turning to this year’s bigger than ever ‘Caslerock Annual Walkfest’, which is expected to attract its usual turnout of outdoor enthusiasts on the weekend of 15th-16th September.

Details on this and all other local events are available in the Centre. Call in and see us or telephone 70849303.
