Cat tortured to its death

The animal went missing in the Taghnevan area on Saturday, June 4.

Five days later a number of people had contacted the cat’s owner to say that it was brutally tortured to death.

There were gruesome reports of how the pet met its end with allegations someone had snatched the cat and attacked it.

Details ot what happened were far too upsetting for us to report.

There were also claims the cat had been locked in a room with a dog to be ‘finished off’, although there is no solid evidence for this at the minute.

“I was nearly sick when I found out,” said the owner.

“I can’t understand why anyone would do this. Someone who lives nearby told me they actually heard the cat screaming on Saturday night.”

However, at the time of puplication, the body of the cat has not been found.

A spokesperson for the PSNI said: “Police can confirm that they have received the report of a cat which has been missing from the Taghnevan area of Lurgan since Saturday, June 4.”
