Cathedral Youth Club launches new ‘official’ website

Cathedral Youth Club has taken another step into the digital age, with the development of a new website and new social media platform to showcase the work being done by the young people of The Fountain.

The website is being developed and delivered by Ronnie Fredrick Gomersal, who is a bit of a ‘wizzkid’ when it comes to information technology and building websites.

A small budget was obtained by the Cathedral youth Club administration team to build their online presence, and Ronnie was approached by co-ordinator Graham Warke to get the ball rolling with some high-tech online design work.

“I have known Ronnie for some time and he is a bit of a wonder kid when it comes to digital stuff and online social media. This project is giving him a chance to get some paid work experience under his belt, gain work experience, and help him towards perhaps open up options for him in terms of securing future work or even full-time work.

“What we have now is his first attempt at building a website for use by us at Cathedral Youth Club, and we are all delighted with the results so far. One thing we badly needed in the past at the Youth Club was a dedicated website for administrative purposes, and thanks to Ronnie, we now have the basic building blocks in place upon which we can build our online presence,” said Graham.

The Cathedral Youth Club is based in The Fountain Estate in Londonderry’s Cityside. It is the only remaining Protestant community in the West Bank of the City, and is open five days a week from 9am to 9pm. (See next week’s Sentinel/website for our feature on Ronnie.)
