Caught driving while disqualified for thirteenth time, court hears

Patrick Anthony Martin Waide (51), of Corkey Road, Loughgiel, was detected at Shelton Road, Loughgiel, on November 10, 2015. He also pleaded guilty to driving without insurance.

At Coleraine Magistrates Court on March 14, defence solicitor Stewart Ballentine said his client is “seriously ill” and asked for a pre-sentence report to be prepared ahead of sentencing in April. The court was told the defendant is currently banned from driving for ten years and District Judge Liam McNally told him that despite his illness he is in danger of being sent to prison.

A driver “in a panic” after missing the bus to work crashed into the rear of a vehicle outside ‘Flash in the Pan’ chip shop in Ballymoney.

Michael Kuminiarczyk (20), of Garryduff Road, Dunloy, appeared at Coleraine Magistrates Court on March 14 where a prosecutor said police attended a two vehicle collision at Queen Street on January 7 this year.

A Passat car was waiting for a car in front to turn right when the defendant, driving a Toyota Corolla, collided with it.

A defence lawyer said the defendant had missed the bus to work and in a panic he took the car and didn’t see the vehicle in front because he was “pre-occupied” with getting to his employment.

The defendant admitted driving without due care and attention; absence of insurance; being an unaccompanied L driver and having no L plates displayed.He was given six penalty points and fined £400.
