Aaron Thomas Hughes, whose address was given to the court as Rosmoyle, Craigavon, was given a conditional discharge for 12 months for criminal damage on July 31 last year.

The court heard that around 6.30pm police went to an address in Craigavon in response to a report of
criminal damage.

They found that the front door had been damaged and the lock had been broken.

Police went to another address where they spoke to the defendant.

He made a full admission, claiming he had lost his key.

His grandmother was very shaken by the
incident and did not want him back at the
address.

A barrister representing Hughes said the defendant was now back living with his grandmother.

He added that Hughes had a ‘horrendous record’ but he had made full and frank admissions.

Deputy District Judge, Mr Sean O’Hare, said the defendant had done
exactly the right thing when interviewed but exactly the wrong thing when he went round to his grandmother’s house.
