Danielle Black (24), Lurgantarry, Lurgan, was fined £175 last Wednesday at Craigavon Magistrates Court for driving without due care and attention on May 20 this year. She was also given five penalty points.

The court heard that a police mobile patrol was travelling along the North Circular Road in the direction of its junction with Lake Street.

A car came from Lake Street and made no attempt to slow down. It went through the centre of the roundabout and the police vehicle had to make an emergency stop.

The car continued past Tannaghmore Primary School and when police spoke to the defendant she said: “It’s not like me.”

A solicitor representing the defendant said it was a poor piece of driving.

He said that this was a mini-roundabout which she simply did not notice and she was very fortunate to not be involved in an accident.

District Judge, Mr Mervyn Bates, said it was a very bad piece of driving.
