Causeway Coast Peace Group host Lenten Breakfast

FOOD and fellowship were enjoyed by almost 90 members and friends at the eighth annual Lenten Breakfast of the Causeway Coast Peace Group in Dunluce Parish Centre, Bushmills on Saturday.

Canon George Graham, the rector, said grace and after breakfast the guest speaker, Fr. Brian Daly, from Ballycastle, used the angry comment, “Too many people in this house are telling me what to do”, made by the father in “It’s too late to talk to Billy” to remind his audience that they should use Lent to take time, as Christ did in the wilderness, to listen to what God alone is telling them to do.

The Peace Group would like to thank Fr. Daly, Canon Graham and everyone who came to the breakfast for their generous support. £400 was raised, which will be divided between Trocaire and Christian Aid.

The next meeting of the Causeway Coast Peace Group will be held in St. Patrick’s Hall, Portrush, on Tuesday, March 20 when the guest speaker is Fr. Brian Darcy.

Two further special events to look forward to are the Tenth Anniversary Service of Thanksgiving in Ballintoy Parish Church in May and the Annual Day Trip in June to the Cathedrals and Peace Bridge in Derry/Londonderry. All are welcome.
