Celebrate 50 years of peace

On Friday 30th October Corrymeela will turn 50 with a mixture of surprise, gratitude and wonder.

In the last fifty years thousands of lives have been transformed because of the work of Corrymeela. Hundreds of volunteers and staff have worked with thousands of groups and Corrymeela is so thankful for all that has been achieved. As well as being an open village, Corrymeela has always been a global village and volunteers and friends are spread across the world.

“We want to invite all of you to our global birthday party. Here we will be celebrating with events at Belfast City Hall, Ballycastle and St Anne’s Cathedral but we are only part of the story,” said a spokesperson.

“Wherever you are in the world we would love you to celebrate our birthday any which way you can. Gather some other friends and have coffee, host a barbeque – do a bungee jump or a walk. Whatever way you would like to celebrate we want to support it and we want to hear about it.
