Celebrate the Queen's 90th birthday at Lurgan Park

Don't forget to pack the sun cream along with your picnic blankets and chairs for the amazing celebratory events planned for this Saturday, 11th June, to mark the Queen's 90th birthday.

Taking place at Lurgan Park everything is free and will begin with a fun day for the whole family from 12noon to 3pm followed by a concert from 7.30pm to 10.30pm and an amazing fireworks display to end the evening in style.

The fun day will have loads of noble activities for children to take part in and some very special guests as well!

Dress up in your finest costume and join Queen Elsa and Princess Anna as you take on the very important job of decorating fairy cakes fit for royalty – and then get stuck into your own creations!

Mike the Knight and Princess Sofia will be on hand to help you make a beautiful crown to show off to your kingdom and there will also be face painting, balloon modelling and glitter tattoos to add those magical finishing touches!

Look out for the junior swing chairs, race your horse in the Kentucky Derby and don’t miss the bouncy castle as well!

Then get yourselves ready for the fabulous birthday celebration concert at 7.30pm!

The impressive line-up on the night includes the Rod Patterson Session Orchestra, featuring Siobhan Pettit and Aine Whelan with special guest George Jones performing ’90 Years of Music’.

Award winning Lee Matthews, who recently won best songwriter at the Irish Country Music Awards is also performing.

Fans can expect to hear him play his new single ‘The Farmer wants a wife’ live on the night as a special treat.

Local favourite Emma Horan will also be on stage to entertain the crowds with some beautiful melodies.

This free concert is hosted by Armagh City, Banbridge and Craigavon Borough Council. Paul Clarke (UTV) and Sarah Travers (BBC) will be the celebrity comperes for the evening.

The concert stage will be framed by the magnificent backdrop of Brownlow House so all you have to do is bring a blanket and picnic to fully enjoy the surroundings!
