The school is able to enliven the curriculum from the personal experiences and photographs from these children when studying the other countries and share cultures, identities and customs on a first-hand basis rather than from a book or the internet.

The musical celebration of culture week coincides with Catholic Schools’ Week.

As a Catholic organisation, St Brendan's welcomes all cultures and traditions to the school and embrace the diverse richness this lends to the school family.

The school celebrated Catholic Schools’ Week with special assemblies, prayer services, Mass and create a ‘Sacred Space’ in the school.

For the ‘Musical Celebration of Culture’ week pupils experienced a range of styles of dancing with Linda May.

An assembly took place looking at the diversity of dress, food, culture, traditions and songs from different cultures.

All classes were taught songs from around the world and watched DVDs about different cultures and faiths and some of the girls had henna paint designs tattooed on them.

The aim of the week was to promote a feeling of togetherness for all the school family.
