Celine Dion fan wins trip of life time to Vegas

Catherine was speechless when she found out she won the ‘Sony’ trip to Las Vegas to see her idol live at Cesar’s Palace, plus two nights accommodation, all expenses paid.

The 49-year-old who was reared in Taghnevan said she was in ‘complete shock’.

She explained that she had gone to the Amazon website to pre-order Celine’s new CD - ‘Love me back to life’.

“I am her biggest fan ever and there was a draw sponsored by ‘Sony’ to win a trip to ‘Las Vegas’. I entered and thought no more about it until a phone call from Amazon came through on my mobile.

“As I was driving down the Lough Road my partner Lawrence took the call and said it was ‘Amazon’ and they wanted to speak to me. I said tell them I’m driving and you take the message as I had recently placed an order for some electrical equipment and thought it was to do with that.

“Lawrence then said to me pull into the petrol station you need to take this call and a lovely lady called Frances told me I was the winner. I couldn’t even answer her for crying and we sat in the car for ages after in complete shock and wondering was it a joke,” said the former St Mary’s pupil.

Mum of three boys Anton, Shaun and Darragh, Catherine had been planning a special trip for her 50th next November and couldn’t decide between America or Australia. “It looks like we will get to do both,” she said.

“I still cant believe this has happened to me as I so adore her and have always followed her so I will probably cry the whole concert,” she said.
