Central Primaryhosts autismtraining event
Central Primary School in Carrick hosted a training event for teachers and classroom assistants in East Antrim.
The guest speaker was consultant psychologist Dr. Joanne Douglas who is an expert in autism and associated conditions.
Dr. Douglas explained how schools can effectively support children with Pathological Demand Avoidance or pupils whom they think may have it.
This condition is believed to stem from extreme levels of anxiety.
Dr. Douglas is based at The Spectrum Centre in Dungannon.
