“There is a sign at the entrance for Mid Ulster Council but approaching it there is only one for Magherafelt Advice Service,” she said at the latest development committee meeting.

“It would be useful to have a sign put up for visitors to the Magherafelt office.”

It was agreed that council officials would look into the possibility of erecting signage at the entrance to the Magherafelt Office, which is located on the outskirts of the town.

At the meeting members were also informed that officials were progressing an application for a brown tourism sign for the area’s new £4m arts venue - the Seamus Heaney Centre in Bellaghy.
