Chamber praises lighting work

THE CHAIR of Lurgan Chamber of Commerce has praised those who carried out work on the new lighting columns in the town centre.

Charlie Gardiner said: “I would like to commend the contractors who carried out this work.

“We negotiated with them to get the work done at night time. This turned out to be the case and it was done with minimal disruption

“They had five diggers working through the night, and you would not have even known they were there.

“They are worthy of praise for the work they have done.

“The job is a credit to them.”

Craigavon Council and the Department of Regional Development are working with KPL to carry out the developments.

A Council spokesperson said: “We are working to replace the old light columns with new ones consistent with the public realm scheme

Work will be carried out over the next three to four weeks.”
