Shipmaster and local historian Robert Anderson was delighted to welcome guests to the launch, including Coleraine Times editor David Rankin and Caring Caretaker, Davy Boyle, whose charities will benefit from half of the sales of ‘Even More Fading Memories.”

Tommy McDonald of Impact Printing, publishers of the book, said he hoped everyone gathered would enjoy the range of photographs unearthed by Robert and other contributors.

Tommy said proceeds from the book would also be given to Agherton Parish Church.

Thanking Robert for the invite to launch the volume, Times Editor David Rankin said he had been happy to provide several bin bags of old photos from the early days of the newspaper for the book.

He added: “In these days of mobile phones, Facebook and Twitter it’s somehow reassuring that the pictures here are contained within a book and not stuck in some mobile device, ipad or Tablet somewhere else.

“I think it’s incredibly important that people of future generations have books like this - not just for their historical value but also because they are superb photos.”

Containing 100 interesting quality illustrations, each supported by informative captions, the book features street scenes, trades, industries, people and places that in many cases have passed into the history of the “Triangle” area.

Robert thanked all those who had contributed to the book in anyway.
