Charged with 11 burglary offences

A 31-YEAR-old man has been charged with up to 11 burglary offences which were committed across the Belfast, Antrim, Lisburn, Newtownabbey and Carrickfergus.

He is due to appear at Lisburn Magistrates court on January 30.

It is understood the charges relate to 11 burglaries including one in Crumlin, another in Hillsborough and four in Lisburn - and an attempted burglary in Hillsborough. They were all carried out between December 2009 and June 2011.

Eight of the burglaries were creeper-type incidents, one was a domestic burglary and two relate to commercial premises.

As is usual procedure the charges will be reviewed by the PPS.
