Charged with having knife and meat cleaver

A man has appeared at the local magistrates court charged with having a knife and meat cleaver with intent to commit an offence, namely grievous bodily harm.

Eamon Fulton (41), of Firfields, Antrim, is charged with having a 10-inch bladed knife in his possession, with intent to commit grievous bodily harm, on October 4.

He is also charged with having a meat cleaver with intent to commit grievous bodily harm, also on October 4.

Fulton is further charges with two counts of assaulting a police officer on the same date.

A police officer told Antrim Magistrates on Tuesday that she could connect Fulton to the four charges.

The case was adjourned until November 3 for Fulton to indicate his plea.

Fulton was released on his own bail of £300 and ordered to observe a curfew from 10pm to 8am, and not consume alcohol.
