Charged with mistreating patient
A twenty-nine-year-old woman is denying a charge that she ill-treated a mental health patient at a Portadown care home last
year.
Diane White, whose address was given to the court as The Hamiltons, Armagh, is charged that on November 24 last year, being an officer on the staff or otherwise employed in a nursing home, namely Rosemount Care Home, ill-treated a male patient who at the time was receiving treatment for mental disorder as an in-patient in the home.
Last Friday at a sitting of Craigavon Magistrates Court her solicitor said that she would be contesting the matter.
The court was told there would be one defence witness and seven prosecution witnesses.
The case was adjourned until October 23 so that a date could be fixed for a contested hearing.
