Charges dropped in animal abuse case
A Banbridge man, who originally faced a charge of causing unnecessary suffering to a dog, had the charge withdrawn at last week’s local court.
The case against Patrick Norman Cooper (44) was dropped at last week’s Banbridge Magistrates Court after the Public Prosecution Service advised District Judge Mr Copeland that the matter was being dealt with by an “alternative disposal”.
It is understood Cooper received a formal warning.
Earlier this year Cooper from Pinley Park appeared in the dock charged with the offence which allegedly occurred on 16 February 2013.
At the time Deputy Judge Mr Dunlop enquired as to bail conditions and was told there had been “difficulty with neighbours” and “video footage uploaded onto Youtube.”
