Charges over Easter trouble withdrawn
A 22-year-old man accused of taking part in trouble in Lurgan on Easter Monday had charges against him withdrawn last Friday at Craigavon Magistrates Court.
Kieran Lavery, Meadowbrook, Craigavon, will now only face charges of riotous behaviour and assault on police on March 28.
Charges of affray, possession of an offensive weapon and assault occasioning actual bodily harm were formally withdrawn at last Friday’s court by the prosecution.
A solicitor representing Lavery asked for the case to be adjourned until August 26 so that he could take instructions from his client.
